(special to "th-s truss") DUNEDIN, September 26. Tho Atua, which put 'back from Suva oa Wednesday to look for tho Wliaugapoj ha* returned without finding her. The Atua, it will be remembered, picked , up the boat which was sent from the Whangape on the 21et inst'., and her not having found any trace of the Whangepe, although ehe set out on tho search only forty-six hours after the boat had left the disabled steamer, is proof of the difficulty of locating a drifting vessel. Tho Whaingape was then only 80 miles from Suva. Tho Atua wewt straijght -out to where the vessel wae last reported, and steamed 700 miles in search of her, being away two ami a half days. On her return to port, tho Union Company immediately chartered the steamer Antra, which left at 10 o'clock last night on a searching cruise, and the ftentury, which has been chartered by the company for Gorno time for cargo carrying, will also be despatched..
