(PKESS ASSOCIATION' TEIJX.RAjr.') HOXITIKA, Soptember 26. Tho hearing of the evidence in the perjury charge concluded to-day., when Police Inspector Black and the accused (Connolly) gave evidence. Tho latter, under severe cross-examination by 3fr Herdman, lending counsel for the prosecution, admitted to having told at tho -S'elson trial seven distinct lies. Mr Justice Cooper, at the conclusion, remarked that this was the most extraordinary trial that he had ever taken part in in New Zealand it being .so full of contradiction?. Counsel Tvill address tho jury on Men day, and his Honour will sum up 01: Tuesday.
