RUGBY REFORM.

(rRESS ASSOCIATION TELKGBAM.) TIMARU, September 19. The Management Committee of tho South Canterbury Rugby Union has approved of the following amendments advocated by the Otago Union for the improvement of Rugby football:— 1. That a throw-in from touch bo for ten yards. 2. A potted goal to count three points. All others two. 3. The game to bo played in four equal spells, with a maximum of twenty minutes each. t. The rules as to professionalism to be revised in the direction of paying all board and travelling expenses of representative teams, with pocket money, only when outside the Dominion. The secretary, Mr J. O'Leary, was appointed delegate at the special meeting of tho New Zealand Union. (SPECIAL TO "TUB TRESS.") DUNEDIN, Septembor 19. Tho president of the Otago Rugby Union expressed the opinion at the referees' smoke concert that the outcome of the New Zealand Union's meeting would be that they would break away from tho English Union, and that an Australasian Union would be formed.
