INVERCARGILL, Auguet 10. A six-roomed house, owned by Lennie and Sons, and occupied by a man named Dovolosky, was gutted by fire this morning. The house was insured in tho National Office for £150, and the furniture for £100. Most of the latter wa3 saved. NELSON, August 10. A six-roomed house in "\Yaimea road owned and occupied by \V. Kirby. carrier, was completely destroyed to-day by fire. An old, bedridden woman named Mrs Flatty (Mrs Kirby's mother) waa rescued by a neighbour when tho room was full of smoke and flame. Insurances: —£250 on houso in tho Imperial, £100 on furnituro and £35 on piano in the Norwich Union. Tho losses over insurances are considerable.
