HOCKEY.
The Junior and President's matches, nnaer tho control of the Canterbury Hockey Association, were continued on Saturday in fine weather. The following are the details: — Avon met Addington at St. Albans Park, and won by 4 goals to 3, after a very fast and interesting game. Mr H. Hatch was rofereo. Elgin met Sydenham on the Polo Ground, and won by 6 goals, shot by H. Jackson (8), Allpress (2), and Bell, to 8, shot by Graham (2) and MtCutcboon. Sir J. W. Simea who referee. Christcburch had a bye. . Avon A defeated their club's B t«am by 8 goals to nil. Earwaker (8), Flavell (2), Pearce, Pullyn, and Wise were tie scorers. Mr H. Blewitt waa referee. Addington A defeated Elgin B by 5 goals to nil. The scorers wero:— Granger (2), McKay, McCracken, and Clarke. Mr H. Luxton was referee. Contrary to expectations, Lyttelton wore defeated by Chrateburch by 3 goals to nil. Hugh Wilson shot all the goals.. Mr W. T. Doy was referee.Sydenham put up this season's record score against Elgin A, winning by 20 goals to nil. The scorers were:--Roberts (9), Barber (5), Ralph (3), Marsden, Stace, and Rice. Mr A. Stewart was referee.
