AUCKLAND, August 6. A boy returning from die Mount 'Itoskill school yesterday afternoon, looked into a cottage occupied by tivo Cninese market gardeners—Ah Jing and Louie Yang—and saw Ah Jing stretched out on tho ilooc with a gun beside him. When investigations were made," Ah Juig was found in bed, fully clothed, *ith an extensive wound in tho abdomen, tho flesh being seared, m> that . "H was evident that be had been shot at close range. The wounded man asserted that- Louio Yang had shot him. t ' Apparently there had been a fierce struggle, the bed being covered with Wood, tho curtains torn down, and a *tream of blood, culminating in a poo!, *here Ah Jing fell. p\ Ah Jing said that the quarrel aro<o y to much talk, duo to Louie Yang lying in bed, whilo ho (Ah J ire) ■"forked. 'There iiw much talk," he . added, "'we fight. Ho lied." Ah Jing is in the hospital, his condition being critical. Louie Yang was arrested this morr.- - .; lr -S at Panraure. He had one hand "badly cut. This afternoon he was at the hospital, before Mr %er, S.M.. with attempting th* -, flsurder ot his confrere. The depositions of the wounded man wero taken. He Bwore that he and the accused had ouarreHed, coming to blows. Accused then rttohod to where the gun/wa.* kept, xrhilst witness secured a butchers - k&ifo.
