THEATRE ROWDIES.
4 (FBXSS ASSOCIATION TELEOnAM.) DUNEDIN, Jwly 7. In tbe Magistrate's Court this morning Mr Widdowson, S.M., made an example of disturbers of the peace at h-is Majesty's last night. Joseph Pratten, John Ward, and John llelford, firemen on board chips, went into tlie circle ot the theatre, possessed of two bottles of whiskey, and somo bread and cheese. They lent a hand in the performance during rj-uiet moments, with such comments as "shining tart and "liooray." As a result, at tho Court today they were fined 10s each far drunkenness! Belford and Pratten 406 each, in default ono month, for the disturbance, whilst bho third offeuder, who wont to sleep, was convicted and discharged on the second offence. Defendants, who arc Cockneys, alleped that they were following tho gocd old Bnglish custom in taking drink into tho theatre.
