CONVENT CHAPEL.

OPENING AND DEDICATION

Yesterday the new oratory chapel which has "been built in connection with the convent of the Sacred Hoa-rt for the use 6f the religious and tJie pupils of the convent, was opened and dedicated. In the morning his Lc-rdship Bishop Grimes, attended by several of tihe pricaste of the diooeee, bTeesed amd dedicated the building. Pontifical Hisjh Mass was celebrated by the Bishop, Dean Ginaty, and Dean Regnault, Provincial of the Society of Mary, being deacons, and Dr. Kennedy, cub-deacon of tho throne; Rev. Father Peebles was the deacon of tJit> Mass, and Rev. Father O'Hare β-üb-deuuxm. The Bishop, in his address, eulogised the religious for their services not alone to tdwir pupils bait a3so to the comcmiinity in whidh they lived. His Lordship, the assisting priests, and the members of the congregation were entertained nt a dejeuner in the convent refectory by the Sisters. In the afternoon a very excellent musical a-nd dram>atic programme was given by the pupils of the convent hksh sdhool, when there was a large attendance. In honour of his feast day, Bishop Grimes was presented with tabernacle veils aud a stand for tho monstrance, together with a number of bouquets. The play "St. Philomensv" wae admirably civon by all concerned, Mifis Katie O'Connor as St: Philomena. and Mies Agnes Donnoll as Lucius, being specially good. The musioail selections were also very eucoessfu]. In the evening the Bishop celebrated Vespers in the new ohapel.
