Henri Rochetto has been released on bail amounting to £8000* [Henri Pochette, a Parisian company promoter, was arrested on March 20th on charges of theft, tho arrest causing a great sensation in financial circles in Paris. M. Rochetto was associated with iiuancial undertakings whoso total canital exceeded £1,500,000 and it is alleged that this amount was inflated by speculation to as much as £8,000,000. The chargo against him was that of having floated bogus companies.] A SHIPPING CASUALTY. (Received May 10th, 4.23 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 9. Tho steamer Bovcric, bound from Astoria to Sydney, struck an unknown object and put into San Francisco, where she will discharge her cargo and bo docked for repairs. A MURDERER'S REPRIEVE. NEW YORK, May 9. Harry Orchard, tho murderer of Stonnenberg, has, against his own protest, been reprieved until July. He declares that ho would prefer to ho hanged, as even his fellow prisoners ahun him. THE EULENBERG CASE. (Received May 10th, 4.18 p.m.) BERLIN, May 9. After a prolonged confrontation with three witnesses, Prince Eulenberg was arrested, and although suffering intense physical pain, ho was conveyed in a motor ambulance to Berlin. Counsel sought to have the Prince released on £35.000 bail, but the examining magistrate refused. THE AMERICAN FLEET. NEW YORK, May 9. Mr Metcalf, secrotary to tho Navy, reviewed tho American Fleet at San Francisco. Admiral Evans' command ended yesterday, when' he was so ill that he was unable to proceed aboard his flagship and participate in tho review, as intended.
