In •referring to rates he pointed out- that . liilo very few -were outstanding at the <:-n(] of the year, the grenter part was not paid till the eve of the ten j.e;- cent, penalty being added, in- co>n..■'!|uence oi tvhirili the Board had to >vc-ik en an overdraft, the interest on which amounted to £9, or nearly double the amount taken by way of 10 per cent., and he hoped that in future the rates, woukl be paid earlier. The motion was seconded, by Mr Crump and carried.
