TIMARU, May 5. [Mr Pryor, secretary to the New Zealand Employers' Federation, passing through Cliristchurdk to Tirnara to-duY, rn-rt the directors cf the Blackball Coal Company, and received their reply to an offer made by the. Advisory Board of the Federation. This was that if tho Government would.not take action against tlio Unions that li&yc voted <to the strike pay fund of the miners, the Federation would employ counsel and pay all expensm if the company took action. The directors accepted this . offer, and the question whether making such contributions is an offence- as aiding a.nd abettin.<r a strike, will be tested in a Court of law.
