The Western Australian Government appear to be fully alive to the advantages of combining sheep-keeping with wheat-growing. With the view in encourage tins tarinera ot the State to adopt the practice, the Minister ot Agriculture has imported 14,000 ewes from the Western States for distribution. These sheep are supplied on very liberal terms, viz., easy payments extending over two years, so that by the time the final payment falls due the farmer should have obtained sufficient from tho »return of wool and sale ot lambs to. meet all engagements, besides having the original stock and a balance to the good.
It is a, well-known feet that horses are fond of many foods. Mr Jaraee Uallister, of Carterton. who has made a study of tbe subject for several years, states that their favourite food is wireweed.
