ST. BARNABAS'. FEND ALTON. Tho ammal meeting of parishioners of St. Barnabas'. FendaJton, was hoki in tho Parish roam on Thursday ovening. Tho vicar, tho l?«v. T. A. Hamilton., was in tho chair. Tho vicar's address stated that tho financial position of tho parish was sound; there was too debt whatever. Among tho evidences of tho church's progress and tho deepening of tho spiritual life during tho past year were —The increased support to missions; tho 'batter obscrv-an.no of Lent and Holy days; and tho mitnbor of communicants. Tho contributions to missions reached £G7 8s Bd>. Never in tho' history of tho church had such large congregations assembled on Good* Friday as this year. The communicants nnimbercd "22f> on Easter Day, as against 80 ten years ago. A (special feature of the church's work -was tho Bible instruction in tho State, school dairy from 9 to 9.30 a.m. The vicar, on , bohe&f of himself and his wife, tho-nked tho Sewing Guild and tho parishioners generally for tho renovation of the vicarage and: tho increased comfort. The church wardens' balance-sheet and report were most gratifying. Tho total receipts w-ero £580 7s 4d and-tho expenditure £551 14s Gd, leaving a credit bala-nco of £28 12s lOrl. A bonus of £0 had been voted! to Miss J. Black, orpainist, in recognition of her services. Gas liad been introduced into tho church an-d schoolrooni" af.a o&st of £45 Gβ, and repairs had been effected , at tho vicarage amounting to £37 18s 6d.
