•: Mt Ernest Empson, who hae recently returned from completing his musical ... studies in Germany, will give & piano recital at tho Choral Hall to-night. • "Whilst in Germany. Mr Empeon received flattering notices from some of the leading German papere for hi^ ;.. playing. The programme of piano ' solos is- an exceedinigly attractive onei ■~. It comprises Beethovon'a WaJdstein Sonata in 0; Brahms "RJiapeodio in B Minor" op. 79; Liszt's "Sonhette de l'otrarca" No.-123; two "Studdee of Chopin" op. 10 and op. 35. "Berceuse" and the well-known "Pol- ■,'. onniso" in A Flat, hy the eamo ; composer. With Mr Gladstone Bell, ■> Mr Empsom will play the first movement—Allegro Agitato-fbf Grieg's ■Sonata in A Minor. Hβ will be assis't«d by Mrs Gower Burns, who sings "Maytimo, ,, "Glnd Tidings," and '"Hush, My Littlo One," and by Mr . Gladstone Bell, who plave fiach's ;'■■ "Aria 5, and Cossman'e "Tarantella," Aud takes part in the duet with Mr : Empson.
