CANTERBURY CENTRE.
Tho Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association met on Friday. Present: Dr. Thomas (chairman), Messrs H. S. Williams, J. li. Aitkeii, R. Ashwortb, and F. Pratt. Mi- Ait ken reported that tho subcommittoe appointed' to raise funds towards scouring tho representation oi Messrs Murray, Kerr and Hackina at tho Olympian Games in London, hatcollected £110, and that it had been decided to hand over that amount to Murray towards his expenses. The chairman expressed gratification with] the success attained by the sub-cor- j roittee in the short period at their disposal,'and despite the fact that tho; holidays had interfered witji -<}a#?fs-! sing. He considered that the amount given to Murray would be quite euf~. ficient to defray all the travelling ex-. penses that he might incur. .- ~ Mr J. H. Mr J. E. Green wrote stating that he had resigned the position of honorary secretary of the ccui-ril, and thank-' ing the Centre for its past support and'coniidenoe.
