CASUALTIES.
» William A. Lewie, 49 years of age, a railway labourer, rosiidirg at Hazel<lean road, who ie supposed to have swallowed poison yesterday morning, died about s&v«n o'clock last evening. Constable Jackson had tho body oonveyed to the morgue, where an inquest will be held to-day. A man named Miller, while attempting to catch the tram on the Ferry road on Thursday evening, bumped his head heavily against the eide of the cur, and was rendered senseless. He was taJcen to his home in Chester street/ and yesterday morning was convoyed to tho Hospital, where last evening he had partly recovered consciousness. Mr William Morriss, who teas recently gored by a bull at "Waikuku, is slowly recovering. .Although the animal inflicted severe injuries, Mr Morriss had tie presenco of mind to seize tho bull's nose, and while lying on the ground he hekl the animal for some time till help came.
