Wo were able to supply all the demands, the only valid cau&o for complaint being that at certain times rite supply was inadequate on the upper portion of the respective zoivee. This drawback was dv« to the existence of a pipe of too small diameter to meet tne growing demamd, and steps are being taken to reduce tiie disadvantage to a minimum, 'lho daily average consumption rose from gallons in May to 39.70 gallons in January, white th© meaji for the whole year 6tajide at 32.19 gallons, as against 29.65 gallons for tho previous year. It is hoped tliat 'before another yearly review of tho work at Heathcoto is attempted, ttoo power end will be amply provided for, and that a plant capablo of dealing with twice the ordinary requirements will have bopn installed. The total quantity of water piimood into the main reservoir during 1907. wa-s 56.094.C00 gallons, of which 8.D97.200 gallons was supplied to shipping, tho balance being the town consumotion."
