GERALDINE.
The last monthly meeting of £he Geraldine Koad Board was attended by Messrs J. Kelland (chairman), O. Scott Thomson, P. Mulvihill. J. M. Barker, and J. Wharton. The contractor for crushing boulders wrote stating that his crusher had been thoroughly overhauled and ho hoped to get on with the work in hand in about a week. ihe annual meeting of ratepayers was fixed for May sth, and tho election of two member* (■Messrs J. Wharton and P. MulviMl retiring) was fixed for May Gth." It was resolved to notify reservo tenants that they must keep their properties ciear-of gorse, etc. The Board decided to recommend the Council that old birds' heads be purchased on same terms as last year, and that poisoned wheat be prepared for distribution amongst farmers, but the Board did not consider it worth while to spread poisoned grain on roade. Tho Board would i?.ive preference to some suitable method of trapping. It was decided that tho clerk write to tlie Waimate, Temuka. and Ashburton Boards enquiring regarding the success of traps in those districts. Accounts for £206 0s Id were passed.
