« Th© antraal smoke concert and presentation of cups iix connection with the Canterbury Cricket Association will d>e held in the Cliamber of Commerce, Hall on Saturday next, at 8 p.m. A meeting of shop, ware-iouse, and office assistants will be heldi to-morrow evening at eight o'clock at the Trades' Hall to form a union. The last dtay of entry for the higher examinations in theory and art of teaching in connection with Trinity College of Music, London, is tho 14th inst., witli Ma- Davis Hunt tho k>oa<l secretary. The poll in connection with th© proposed loan of £11,500 for the ooi-struc-tion of concrete channelling and kerbing, asphalting foctpaths, etc., in connection with St. Albans Bast will take placo to-morrow at St. JLitthetr'a Voting Men's Hall, Winton street, St. Albans. Tho monthly meeting of the Oaithedral Union will be held this evening in Christ's College Library, when Mr Drummond, F.L.S., will give a lecture on "New Zealand liirds," which will be. demonstrated with lantern slides.
