SWIMMING.
Thr Spreydon Amateur Swimming Club held a 25yds Maiden Handicap and .jQyvls Open Clnb Handicap in tlfe bath* yesterday, when there were good entries for lioth events. The xesultK were:—2syds Maiden—G. S&unders 1, J. Jarmaii 2. oOvds— J. Jarman 1. G. Wendelkin 2. The monthly coanmittee meeting of the Fendalton Amateeir Swimming Club was held on Thursday evenrnig. Present—Mr J. R. Buchanan (chairman), ami Messrs S. L. Partridge, T. A Wilson, C. Thornton. V. Hamilton, N. G. Bruce, and the secretary. Tho final arrangements wore made for the annual carnival to he held to-morrow iv tho Fendalton School Baths. The secretary reported that record entries have been received for tho different events, and that all the champion swimmers will be- competing.
