THE OHIRO HOME.
(press association texegbah.) WELLINGTON, January 7. Since February of last year the number of inmates at the Oluro Home has increased from 70 to 101. A number of the inmate* "aro chronic invalids. Three old men aro bedridden, one is a mental case, another patient is suffering from internal cancer, one man is suffering from senile decay, two are subject to fits, and another is suffering from rheumatic gout. All these people hare to be fed m bed. In addition, there are other inmates who, the secretary stated at a meeting of the Benevolent Trustees this afternoon, are more fit /for a hospital than the Home. Of late the work at the Home has greatly increased, and the secretary said that be did not see how he could keep up with the work noJesa the people were to be neglected. His wife had been working from 7.30 a.m. till 8 and 9 p.m. without a break, and her health had broken down in consequence. What was wanted was a woman well trained in domestic work. It was agreed to call for applications for an assistant at £52 per annum.
