'.-' —■ ——♦— —-—'..'. LEAGUE OF WHEELMEN. The Council of the League of New Zealand Wheelmen, met last night, when Mr D. E. Wood, presided. Pursuant to notice, Mr A. R. Barker moved that Rule 2 M; should be amended in tbo direction of giving the League two-fifths, of the license foaa received by Centres, instead of onehalf. '." "•',-:/:■■: The motion.was earned. . Mr Righton then proposed the. follow-. ing addition to Rule 2, Section Qj— "Each Centre shall forward to the Council- a- monthly report, giving information relative to the government of cycling within its district, a list of permits issued, particulars of fine* and disqualifications imposed, and generally all particulars that will assist the League Council in governing and pro. moting cycling." The motion was adopted. Tbe following addition to Rule. 18, Section N, was also made, on the motion of Mr Righton sports promoter must, within seven day© after th© race forward to the Centre secretary a report setting forth all breaches of the. rules or other irregularities, fines inflicted, diequalifications imposed, and dealing generally with the meeting for which.the permit lias been granted by the Centos or the League." Some discussion took place on the subject of the boundaries of the districts governed, by the various Centres, and a oommittoe was set up to ascertain what the boundaries were, and to prepare a map showing the boundaries. The secretary of tha National Cyclists* League, London, wrote, asking if the Leaguo would send over a representative to compete in the British Empire Championship Meeting, to be held this year in Scotland. The letter was received. It was resolved to offer the present year's, championship meeting to the Kaiapoi Club, if terms could be arranged.
CANTERBURY CTENTRE. A meeting of the' Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand League of Wheelmen was held last evening, Mr R. Lightbody presiding. . The appointment of Messrs A. C. Duff (Cheviot) and R Lightbody (Ashburten) as delegates was approved. The Waikori Caledonian Society was affiliated with: the League, Tho secretory of a country "club wrote alleging "that a committeeman had received certain sums on the ©lab's behalf, had removed from th© district, and refused to account for the monies h© had received. It was resolved to forward a copy of the complaint to the individual referred to before taking further action. Mr J. Phitp, chief consul, reported having attended the Christchurch Cycling Club's sports meeting on December 16th. The trainer of one of the competitors was disqualified for the day by the starter, and the competitor refused to ride in subsequent events, stating ho was HI. Tbo' writer suggested that th© rider be asked to attend a Centre meeting to givo an i explanation. The matter was held over pending receipt of a report from the club. ' Mr B. Harding was elected j chairman for tbe ensuing year.
