Tho movement for a publio crematorium was initiated hy Miss Studholme. daughter of tie late Mr John. Studholme. There has been a good deal of delay owing to certain difficulties encountered in securing working plans of thk» most approved furnace. This has now been overcome. The Socialist* of Wellington will forward to Mrs Keir Hardie shortly a handsome escrctoir« in New Zealand woods. Mr W. 11. Hawkins, ex-M.H.R. for Pahiatua, has definitely decided to contest the Pahiatua seat at the next general election. The sitting member is Mr R. JB. Ross.
