> REPORTED NEGOTIATIONS FOR SALE.
United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, January 5. The "Observer" reports that negotiations aro in progress to cell "The Times" to the proprietors of eeveral magazines and newspapers. (Received January Oth, 10.33 p.m.) LONDON, January G. Mr A. F. Walter denies that the direction of "The Times" will pass out of the Walter family. The "Daily Chronicle" states that Lord Northcliffe (formerly Sir Alfred Harmsworth), Sir G. INewnes, and Mr C. A. Pearson, declare that the report that "The Times" will be sold to the proprietors of several magazines and newspapers does not refer to them.
