The •weather was excellent for tho conclusion of tho fifth round of matrhps on Saturday, and tho various grounds wore in excellent order. The. following ar« tlif results: — FIRST GRADE.
EAST CHRISTCHCRCH v. ST. ALBANS. Thi.s pame was concluded at Lancaster Park on a good wicket. Tho stato of the game on resinning was: East Christchurch. 15(5; St. Albans, 148 for seven wickets. Addison, bowling splendidly, clean-bowled the lost three men for three runs, and the innings closed amid great excitement for 155. East Christchurch went in again, and thanks chiefly to a fine partnership by Fraser and Egglestone, the score was to ken to 223 for six wickets, when tho innings was declared closed at 4.-15. Fraser played a fino forcing innings, his play on the on sido being very vigorous. Egglestone also played sound and vigorous cricket, his driving on tho off being especially good. St. Albans went in again, and four wickets fell for 2d, Addison capturing the lot, but Blank, Ford and Goldsmith offered strong opposition, and at call of timo the total was 110 for fivo wickets, Goldsmith having made 58 by a combination of careful play and hard hitting.
