"JACK TAR ASHORE."
TO TBS EDITOR OT "THX FUSS." Sir, —I am a sailor on board a> man-o'-war, and I am grieved to hear about my comrades causing trouble .while on leave. I can quite understand them being a bit merry, but I cannot see the reason why they should cause inconvenience to tho public. ■ I saw an account in the paper about it, and I thought it very disgraceful. It ia not only getting themselves ill-Irked, but the remainder of the fleet also. They all wear the same uniform, 'and they all get the same name, guilty or not guilty—they are all sailors, it does not matter. My only hope wow ia that the publio will. think well, and not condemn every sailor. I will close now hoping you win find space in your paper for this short note.—Youre eto., A DISGUSTED SAILOR. H.M.S. Pegasus, January 3rd.
