THE ELINGAMITE'S GOLD.
» (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, December 30. ! A telegraphic message was received in Auckland from the north to-day by Captain McKenzie, promoter of the expedition, intimating that the party which left Auckland on the Claymore a fortnight ago for the /J'hroe Kings Wands to search for the'remainder of the specie from the wreck of the steamer Klingainitc has recovered a "good quantity" of tho treasure. The weather has evidently been, favourable for the carrying out of diving operations, and the efforts of the party in this direction appear to have been Very successful. The amount recovered on the present expedition has as yet not been ascertained. The Claymore party considers that the rest of the treasure is now in sight. The Elingamite. which was wrecked on the Three Kings on November 9th. 1902, had on board £17,300 of specie, of which about £2000 has been recovered in the several attempts which have been made prior to the present one.
