NAPIER WOOL SALES.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TEIKGBAM.) NAPIER, December 3. The first wool sale of-the season opened this morning before a largo and representative attendance. The-cata-logue comprised 7933 J bales, as against 7148 last year. The »ir of buoyancy, however, then apparent wa* to-day miesing. Bidding was kept in deßned limits, and in the majority of instances failed to reach the eellere' ideas of values, and a large proportion were passed in. Some of the best crossbred wool, for -which last yeer ; a dulling and 18d was offered, to-day showed a drop of 3d. Buyer*, too, complained that the wool ac a whole had deteriorated, and the staple, wee not so wcfll grown, nor so good in character as leefc jeir. •■ Later. At the wool sale to-day, the top price, 12id, was realised! for a fine earnpie of Corriedolo wool. Fine crossbreds sold up to 9id. medium croesbrede up to B|d, end coarse up to M. Best haifbrods brought up to lho drop in prices was from 3d to da per lb all round.
