Sir Joseph Ward leaves Wellington for Auckland early next week, to select a site for the new Post Office to be erected there.

Tlio Hon. Geo. Fowlds arrived at Auckland yesterday morning and attended the A. and P. Shoiv. The Minister expects to remain in Auckland till December 10th, and in the meantime ho will attend several public functions in the district.

After visiting tho Summer Show at Dnnediu yesterday afternoon, the Hon. R McNab proceeded to Gore. Ho returns on Monday, when he will receive a deputation from those interested in the inamufacture oi nitrates. The Minister is fully booked up to December loth, when ho returns to Wellington. The Rev. Father ODonnell arrived from Wellington by the Rotomahana yesterday morning.

Mr and Mrs E. W. Roper returned to Christohurch yesterday.

Mr Frank Graham, Mr F. E. Graham, Mr F. R. Pratt, Mr Walter Hill, M. H. Hill, Mr Laycock, Mr Haggas, Mr W. Riddiford, (Sir Beaumont, and Mr Wilkcs left for Wellington by th« Rotomahana last evening.

Arrivals in town yesterday included Messrs W. Morris (Wellington), E. W. Waldon, J. Simpson (Dunedin). H. R. Massey 'Sydney), J. 31urgatroyd (Hororata), T. Smith (Birmingham), and P. Hambleton (Wellington).

The milk suppliers of the Rangiora Creamery entertained iMr R. iManson, manager of the Central Dairy Factory on Wednesday, and presented him -with a purse of sovereigns as a wedding gift. A farewell presentation was made to Miss Glanville- by the staff of the Normal School yesterday, Miss Glanville having resigned her position at the Normal School to take up an appointment at the Southbridge High School. Tho presentation yes made by the Principal of the Normal School, vho extended to Mke Glanville the £|*xl wishes of her fellow teachers.
