j By Royal $WW*3J«3 H,, *!■)••** Warrant t0 Th * KiaK ' BOVRIL js an excellent tonic, bracing the system when everything else fails. I PRISONER SENTENCED. SEVERE WARNING 1 GIVEN. At the Supreme Court yesterday James AVikon, who had pleaded guilty to a. charge of breaking and entering in tho lower Court, came up for sentence boforo Mr Justice Chapman. The prisoner stated that last February ho ivae released from gaol, and got work with the Wellington Harbour Hoard, but was discharged ac the roeult of the police telling the Board's engineer that he had just come out of prison. Hβ then got work on the Xorth Island Main Trunk line, and afterwards he got employment on the vessels the Huia and th© Annie Hill. Ho had committed the crime whilst under tho influence of drink. Mr Stringer, K.C., said that Wilson was a criminal of a eomowhat danger- . ous type. He came to the Dominion in 1!X)4, and the year following he was sentenced to two years for breaking, entering, and theft. In the present case he had resisted arrest ma I most violent manner. On eearching the rooms which Wilson baa. occupied, the police had found some gelignite and tusea. indicating the possession of a burglar's paraphernalia. Wilson said that he got the gelignite on the Main Trunk lino, and had forgotten about it, and had no caps. His Honour said that prisoner had a bad record, and if ho went a little 1 further he would find hiraeelf eubject ;to the law relating to habitual crimi- ! nale. If prisoner was convicted after ' serving the. sentence about to bo given, ho would find himself in prison for a I . term tho end of which prisoner would not see for a long time. Prisoner had not the excuse that he could not find work, but evidently preferred a criminal career. Hie Honour imposed I a sentence of three years' imprisonI ment with hard labour. i ! !
