Tho last meeting of tho Amuri County Council was attended by Mesere D. D. Macfarlano (chairman), R. A. Chaffoy, H. A. Forrester, W. Fitzpatriok, J. McArtlnir, A. Macfarlane, W. Macfarlanc and W. Thomson. Mr F. Davison. asked that the Hoosaok road bo put in order for wool carUng. It was decided to offer him £5 per year to keep tho track in repair. Mrs R. Foster complained of a number of cattlo and horees depasturing on the road along her eection. It was decided to instruct the ranger to attend to tho matter. The Commissioner of Crown. Lands stated that the setting apart of a reserve for a rubbiah depot had been gazetted, and as soon as the required timo had elapsed the reserve would bo availablo for tho purpose. Cγ. McArthur reported that he had effected a settlement of Mrs Harbison's claim against the Council for £25, and enclosed a receipt for aanie. His action was approved. Tho Treasury advlsed tho Council that ite application, for a loan of £10,000 under tho Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1901, -was provisionally approved. It was decided to ask the Laud Board to givo tho Council control of the Mason riverbed and ■waste lands, so that cattle might be kept off tho willow plantation. It was decided that a low level bridge beon the Bourne Creek road, bo as to enable Mr Crampton to got Iris crop out. The receipts for the past month were:—County fund account £71 19s 7d, water rate maintenance account £21 0s 9d. interest account. £19 8s Id. The bunk balances were:—County fund account credit £556 6s lid, mainton anoe aocount debit £8 19e 7d, interest account credit £30 14s 3d, and Waiau township river district account credit £9 19s 2d. Accounts on general account £275 Hβ 3d. maintenance account £9 2b, and Waiau river district account £7 2e were passed, , and the Council adjourned to Friday, January 3rd.
