(SPECIAL TO 'THE PRESS.") WELLINGTON, November 28. On the Stock Exchange to-day, Manawatu Rails wore dealt in at the improved price of £2 3s, which' the "Post" points out gives fhe investor scarcely 3 1-3 per cent. Kauri timbers (loa paid), were in demand, 9s 3d being paid for a parcel of scrip. Talismans again proved the backbone of the mining market, scrip being accepted at £2 15s. Information should be available this week which may explain the strong support accorded this scrip lately. Waihi scrip was without enquiry. Nevertheless, holders declined to revise their price, which remained at £'8 12s. Buyers declared for Bank of Now Zealand at £9 15s, and National Bank at £5 7s Gd. The persistent bids for Wellington Opera House shares have at last produced a seller, who asks £7 ss.
