(PRESS ASSOCIATION TEUCGBAM.) AUCKLAND. November 28. At the meeting of the Metihodurt Synod to-day at wnfe decided:—"Hat tkie Synod rejoices in the oanitimied progress of the No-lioense movement, and vriewu witQi immingLed aatiefaction its beneficial results wherever it bee been tried. It urge* on the people tihe district to throw all their energies into thie supremely important end desirable reform, to t*ke their char© in lihe work prepuwtoiry to €he Jiooneing election, to ccc that their namenare placed upon the electoraj roll, end to urge othere -witJi themselves to.strike out the top line." Another reeolution carried had reference to the enti-gambline crusedo-end was as follows:—"That tbie Synod expresses its eriteful appreciation ot the action of the dorwnunent in the restrictions pieced on the great gambling eviJ by the p;i6«ng of the Gejning Act, but we regret thet the State etili supplies 'fatalities for gamMing by t3ie licensing of the totalieator and the bookmakers." The Ilev. Griffith, of North Shore, vraa elected an the ministerial representative to *he conference, end the Rev. G. W. J. fipence wee elected as substitute.
