French accounts of iiho fighting in Morocco in "Lβ Tewiips" show that Colonel Telinoau's infantry woe al~ meet surrounded on ftunday morning during a n»ist. Though the macihineguns inflicted terrible Loesea tho Arabs ronow'ed tho attack with, desperate fury, %ad threatened to overwhelm the camp. Then 200 Spahis, or native cavalry, repeatedly charged and ongaged in a fierce hend-to-Jiand struggle. Ultimately the Arabs -were compelled to retreat.
