The butter market is firm, with improved demand. Good enquiry is expected until Christmas. Choicest New Zealand butter 118s, Australian 117s, Argentine 118s, Danish 122, Siberian 110s per owt. The cbeeso market is quiet, with a tendency in favour of buyers. Canadian manufacture, 62s per cwt. - The hemp-marked is rather unsettled on account of Manila offering freely, and prices are lower. Good fair grade £29 10s, fair grndo £28 10s, fair current i Manila £30, October-December shipments, good fair grade £28 10s, fair grade £27 10s, f air.curront Manila £29, and January-Maron shipments £28 for good fair , grade, £27 fair grade, and £28 10a fair current Manila per ton. The cocksfoot seed market ia quiet, and holders are firm. There are light stocks on hand, and there is no pressure to sell. Bright, clean 171b seed, £75 per ton. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following oable message from their London office, dated November 22nd:—"Since our last telegram, prices for hides in general are lower by a farthing to a halfpenny. The market is very dull. The leather market is dull, and , nothing doing. Basils—Prices are unchanged, and tfie market quiet."
