WAINONI PARK.
A programme of amusements will be givenvat.iWainoni Park on Thursday afternoon,'<&nd at night a grand fireworks display will be given. Professor Barnes; who is to give an exhibition of ballooning 'at the Park on Thursday, states that he first made an ascent in America, under Mr Leo Stevenson, to he was apprenticed. Hβ afterwards visited Germany, jFranoe, and the Old Country. He states that whilo in England he successfully made seven ascensions .at the Crystal Palace. Professor Baraos subsequently went to South Africa. He met with a rather nasty accident at Johannesburg while ascending in a balloon, as the balloon burst, and he fell on to the roof of an, hotel and sustained injuries to his ribs.
