LAST WOOL SEASON.
We are indebted to the "New Zealand Trade Review" for some details regarding the wool season of 1906-7, ■which will b* read interest just now, when the iprice of -wool is an allimportant topio of conversation with our country readers. "As previously mentioned, the export of wool during the year ended 30th (September last showed an increase as compared with the previous year of about 7.56 per cent, in quantity, and a little over , 4 iper cent, in value. The greatest output has been in. the North Island, which shows an increase of about 101 per oent in weight, equal , to about 21,800 bales, compared with only 4 per cent., equal to about 6300 balen in the South Island. The average prion of the wool exported from the North Island w«a 10.35 das compared with 9.91 din 1905-6. Tho South Island wool, although less in quantity, is of si higher all-round quality than the North Island wool, and the average prico last season was 11.59 d, as compared with 11.14 din 1905-6. The following table, compiled by our contemporary, giving tho average quantity of wool exported and average value for the last six yea re, shows very clearly to what Factor a large share of our rising tide of prosperity has been dne :— Tear Weight.
