NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY COMPANY.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON*, November 22. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company has received the following cablegram- from its London office:—Tiie annual meeting will bo held on December oth. lhe annual report and balance-sheet states that after £9950 has been written off tii© London investments, and LoVW carried to reserve, the board of directors recommend the payment of a dividend at the rate of o per cent, per annum, less income tax £133 carried forward. The report states also that £100,000 out of the surplus for the realisation of the properties under the scheme of arrangement of 1097 has been carried to capital reserve; hence lio total reserve of tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile agency Company, Ltd., is £315,000. In addition tho New Zealand Land Association, Ltd., has carried £75,000, surplus from realisation of properties to a capital resorvo account.
Messrs Dnlgety and Company, Ltd., have received tho following cable message from their London office, dated November 21st:—"Fair demand Lot; frozen lamb, and prices are a shade firmer. Prices for frozen mutton aro rather higher, but demand is poor. Since our last telegram prices for sides of frozen beef are higher by Jd. Butter—Tho Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. We expect no immediate change in prices. Imports of butter into tho United Kingdom for week ending 16th November totalled 58,000 cwt., as compared with 06,000 cwt. same period last year, we quote finest ll&s. unsaltod 118s."
