The House resumed at 7.30 p.m. RAILWAY CLASSIFICATION. The Railway Classification Bill was put through its final stages. - CHUrSTCHURCH DRAINAGE. * The Christchurch District Drainage i Act Amendment Bill wa« put through Committee, and read a third time and passed. SECOND READINGS. The Railways Authorisation Bill and the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Bill were read a second time. SHOPS AND OFFICES BILL. In Committee on tho Shops and Offices Act Amendment Bill, lhe MINISTER moved an amendment to extend the half-holiday provisions to employees of hotels, including those employed in private hotels. Thi6 was agreed to. Tho MINISTER moved a new clause to provide for a pojl of electors to determine the statutory half-holiday, on a petition signed by not lew than onetenth of the electors. Xhc new clause was agreed to by 25 votes to 18. FIRE BRIGADES BILL. The House then went into Committee on the Fire Brigades Bill. ..' Claim- 3, stipulating the population required to form a fire district, was under discussion when the Telegraph Office closed at 2 a.m
