LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Friday, November 22. .The Council met at 11 a.m. PUBLIC SERVICES SUPERANNUATION. The Public Service Superannuation Bill was further considered in committee. Clause 41 provides for the inclusion of the Teachers' Superannuation Fund in the Public Service Superannuation Fund. The ATTORNEY-GENERAL stated that teachers were not properly "public servants." Teachers had their own Superannuation Fund, and before it could be drafted on to tho fund provided for in the Bill, a large nun*>er ot working amendments would have to be made. The Government proposed to have the matter carefully considered during the recess, and next year it was hoped to be ablo to bring the scheme* into consolidation. He moved that the clause be struck out. This was agreed to. and the Bui was reported, read a third time, and passed. # MEMORIALS OF PAST SPEAKERS. A committee was set up to enquire, during the recess, into the most suitable way of perpetuating the memory of those who had occupied the i>osition of Speaker of the Council since the inception of Central Government. THE GAMING BILL. The' Gaming and Lotteries Act Amendment Bill was under consideration during the afternoon and evening sittings. , , _ ... The Bill was put through Committee and finally passed. At 8.13 p.m. the Council adjourned until 11 a.m. next day.
