SEDITION IN INDIA.

Vihar,i, editor the th© "Bombay Marathio" newspaper, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment, besides i being fined, on a charge of sedition. I MR KEltt HARDIE. (PRESB ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, November 22. Mails by the steamer Aeon, which arrived to-day from San Francisco, contain th© following despatch from London, dated October 22nd:—Mr Keir Hardie, whose movements and publications in India havo created much adverse comment and a good deal of excitement in London, informs hi. Parliamentary friends that {in is coming here to "kick up a big row" in tho House of Commons. '"India in all its aspects _■_ systematically lied about in the British Press,'' he adds, "and the worst sort of injustico and tyranny are practiced in tho nam© of loyalty. All th© native races want is decent treatment under tho British flag. For my own part," ho says, "1 intend to see vj.iethcr th© House of Commons cannot ho aroused to a sens© of tho necessity of getting tirod of th© forever wilfully falso medium through which the British public is permitted to see Indian affairs." Mr Hardi© goes on to condemn in© irresponsibility to Parliament of .the treaty-making power of England, and announces it as a fixed part of the Independent Labour Purty's programme to abolish tho present practice.
