THE DANYSZ VIRUS.
DR. TIDSWILL'S REPORT. EFFICIENCY NOT PROVED. United Press Association—By Electric TeiegTuph—Copyright. (Received November 23rd, 12.22 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 23. Dr. Tidswill, who, as representative of th© Federal anel State Governments, watched the experiments with Dr. Dtinsryz's virus for tho destruction of rabbits, has presented his report. He finds that the efficiency of the virus as a destroyer of rabbits has not been demonstrated. Although th© microbe might be mado to infect certain small animate, thero is no reason to apprehend danger from its practical use. He points out that a similar, or at least an indistinguishable virus has been known for years, and*its natural behaviour on th© mainland- has not sufficed to keep rabbits in check. There were no results from the experiments to indicate that the virus could be artificially manipulated with greater efficiency. There need be no apprehension of danger to human beings from its use, while the risk to other animals is remote.
