SHIPPING NOTES.
The barque Bona is to be docked tomorrow for overhaul and survey. The Union Company's chartered steamer Largo Law is expected to e_.il lato to-night
for Timaru, to discharge the balance of her cargo from .Newcastle. The barque Dunloe is expected to sail shortly for Hokianga. to load timber for Sydney. The To Anau was working cargo all Wednesday night, and did not got away until noon yesterday. Tho Defender left Hokitika at 10.33 a.m. yesterday with a cargo of timber for 'Lytt*--ton. The vessel called at Greymouth for bunker coal, and is expected to arrive hero to-morrow. After discharging, tho Defender will leave for Karamea. The Taieri. which arrived early yesterday morning from Greymcuth, via Timaru, is expected to finish discharging on Monday, when she will sail for the West Coast. Tho Westport Coal Company's steamer Canopus is expected to cail this afternoon for Westport. H.M.S. Pioneer. whi_h arrived yesterday morning from Sydney, via Wellington, was berthed at the skeleton breastwork. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Kumar*, which is duo at Port Chalmers from London direct about the 23rd December, is bringing 4000 tons of cargo for that port and haa 1000 tons for Lyttelton, her second port of call. Tho New Zealand Shipping Company's s.oamer Tongariro, from London, via Capetown nnd Hobart, is duo nt Wellington on Sunday morning. .
