Th© "headmaster reported an average - -ttondance of 892 out of 1139. pupils on th© roll at Gloucester street school, and at South Belt 68 out of. 94. Swim-' - Bring classes of 80 boy* and 80 girls had been formed. Tho headmistrces' at Phillip_town reported un average at* tendanco of 154 out of 181 boys, and. 110 out of 149 girls on the roll. Mis* - Wtuchop and Mr A. R. Blank .were - appointed swimming instructors to the * girls end boys respectively. Permission was granted to the headmaster.to take the cadets into camp alt Ashburton. It was decided thai the proposed re-flooring of certain of the „ rooms would afford ■_ good opportunity for tho introduction of dual desks, and ' it was resolved to approach the Board on th© anatter. Sir Wait, on behalf of th© Visiting Committee, reported as to the condition of the school*, empbetsising the remarks of tbe hcadtrn-isteir' on several subjects. Messrs Aiken. An--dr_—.«. and Butler were appointed the Visiting Committee for the next-four weeks.
