DEATH UNDER CHLOROFORM.
A patient named Janwvx Robertson died under chloroform at the Hospital laet night. Robertson, who was a middlo-ogcd mnn, was admitted to theHospital suffering from an internal obstruction, and an operation was commenced shortly after ten o'clock. The antrethetio was administered in the usual way. and tho operatiou proceed<*dsatisfactorily, and was almost finished when the patients heart fluttered aud stopped, efforts to restore thft heart's action proving unavailing. An inquest will be- held at the Hospital, probably some timo to-day.
