THE BABIES' HOTEL.
In om» of th*> many beautiful square in the West End of Londn" is a mr'niir* institution, known ac "The Bebi*-< Hotel," where children .whose parents have no London homo, or who are compelled to lire out of England for a time, are placed for the day or by the year. The house is arranged for the reception of little ones from one month old up to seven or eight years, «nd is intended for such as the'children of Indian officers, and other* on foreign service, or guardians, or trustees, or parent* wno deeire a te«norarv home for their small offspring while they travel. Four special rooms, tinder the exclusive control of a head nurse, fonr charge nurses, and two students acting ac under-nurwe, are set apart for infants under four, five, and six months old, but tho greater part of the establishment is devoted to suites of two rooms each, containing a model family of three children of varying ages, who arc under a chargo nurse and an umlor-nurse. They wear their own clothes, and amusemente of all kinds are provided for them. Only children of good social connections are admitted-, and there is no attempt at making it a cheap home. The fee for babies under three months old is two
guineas a week, and older children are charged from thirty shillings to two guineas. These prices do not ineludo clothes, which, if bought by the proprietors of the establishment, cost from £4 to £30 per year. In the summer the little residents are transferred to a seaside alnxle, and for this no rstrn charge is made, beyond fifteen shillings to cover incidental expenses. This hotel is extensively patronised by Americans, who leave tiieir children whilst touring ovex tho Continent.
