Fat cattle cold with little or no change, fat lambe sold well though at lower rates, store sheep showed an improvement, and the fat cheep market wns a little easier, end there was a dull eale for storo and dniry cattle, and a keen demand at high prices for pigs. STORE SHEEP. There was a small entry of store •heep, mostly shorn wethers and hoggete in the wool. The recent rains hare had a marked effect upon pastures, and there was a brisker demand, and ell classes, especially wethers and hoggete, acrid et an advance. Among the ealos were:—263 forward wethers 17e Bd, 75 at 17a 6d, 493 at 15e 3d to 16s 4d, 70 two-tooths 13e 6d, 658 woolly hoggete 15s 8d to 15a 9d, 150 at 15* 4<i, Ml woolly owes 19e lid. FAT LAMBS. The entry of fat lambe totalled 330, and they were mostly in prime condition. The butchers were the only buyers, and owing to the increased numbor» offered prices fell below the level of tlie previous eale. Best lote made 15a to 18s 9d, and lighter Hβ 6d to 14e 9d. FAT SHEEP. Fat cheep were penned in considerable numbers, the yarding being the largest tor come ti.no past (excepting the double market), and about halt consisted of ehorn sheep. The quality wae of fair average, but among the shorn eheop were a number of lots that were only forward stores. There were more sheep on offer than were required by the local trade, but an export buyer operated froely and purchased about 1000 wethere at 17s to 19s 4d, taking sheep that would weigh out at about 521b to 651b. The prices were, howpvor, a little below those ruling before the holidays. The range of prices was: Woolly wethers 22s to 345, shorn wethers 16s 6d to 225, woolly ewes 22s 6d to 24e 9d, best shorn owes l<s to 21s Id, others l4s 6d to 16s 6d; ehorn merino wethers 20s to 21e 6d. The number of fat cattle penned was 238, and the quality wee, on the whole, very good. There wos a fair demand, and lato rates were maintained. Among the sake were:—For Sims Broe. Other eteere brought £7 5s to £12 Sβ, and hoarier £13 5a to £1" ss. heifera £6 to £10 los, and cows £5 to £9 loe, equal to 28e to 33s for prime end 22e to 27a (3d for medium per lOOlb. A large yardiny of voel calves sold at 4s 6d to" 50a, according to size and quality. STORE AND DAIRY CATTLE. There was a fair mixed entry of store cattle, several lots showing improving condition. Thero was a limited demand and a dragging ealo. Fifteen to eighteen-months steers made 20e to 3os, two-year steers £2 6s to £2 11s 6d, two-year heifere £2 14s, two-and-a-half-year steors £3 18s 6d, three-year eteere £5 2a 6d, three-yenr heifors £3 3s to £3 18s Gd, dry "rows 20s to £3 15s. Dairy cows formed a small entry of second-class animals, and they cold at £3 15a 6d to £6. PIGH. There was a good entry of pige of all classes, and a keen demand was manifested, stores bringing extraordinarily high prices. Choppers made £3 lOs to £6 7e 6d, heavy baconers £3 to £3 15s, lighter 60s to 68e, equal to Gd per lb; porkers 38e to 486, equal to GJd per IL>; largo stores 36s to 40s, medium 30s to 355, and weaners 17e to 28e Cd.
