AN INTERESTING "SYNOPSIS."

1 Messrs H. Matson and 00. s "iSynopeis" for tho current season is a well-printed little publication, containing much information of a character liikely to be useful to the firm's clients, and a large number of illustrations which are of general interest. The contents, which are extremely varied, include notes on tho wool market, with eouie specially-written remarks on the London sales, vegetable fibre in wool, and the prospects of tho coming season, with a table showing tho prices realised for greasy wool at the local sales for three years past, and another indicating the growth ot colonial wool sales for the past twenty years. There are also a "chat" on land values, some notes on the fat la mb and fat sheep markets, , on store sheep, and the dry season experienced last summer, the dairy, fat and store cattle markets, pigs, grain, and Canterbury agricultural returns. Scattered here and there throughout the publication are comparative tables showing the values of various descriptions of stock at Addington during the past few years, the world's sheep returns, Australasian sh«*p returns, railway rates for wool and stock, and no forth. A lighter touch is supplied by several sets of verses dealing with various subjects. Of tho photographs, oF which there are some thirty or forty, a number depict scenes at Addington yards, while there are one or two of the Smithfield Market, London. The views showing a bunch of Leslie Hills cattle- ffoflding the Waiau, with Mr Duncan Rutherford personally superintending the operation, will givo people who do not know the river a good idea of its volume, and should strengthen the hands of those who are agitating for a traffic bridge across it.
