Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., presided at tho Magistrate's Court yesterday. ' Peter Guthrie (Mr Harvey) wae charged with, on September 2nd at Chiistchureh, refusing to quit licensed promises when requested to do so by the licensee. The Magistrate imposed a fine of 20s ond costs, in default seven days' ituprisouinent. Catherine Handcock (Mr Hunt) was charged with procuring liquor during tho currency of a prohibition order. The Magistrate- inmosod a fine of £o nncl costs,, in default two tLonths , imprisonment, A charge of painting advertisements on the rocks.at Sumnor was preferred W. C. Ellen McDougall applied for a summary separation order against her husband, Wallace John McD'oiigall, on the ground of cruelty.
