Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., presided at tho Magistrate's Court yesterday. ' Peter Guthrie (Mr Harvey) wae charged with, on September 2nd at Chiistchureh, refusing to quit licensed promises when requested to do so by the licensee. The Magistrate imposed a fine of 20s ond costs, in default seven days' ituprisouinent. Catherine Handcock (Mr Hunt) was charged with procuring liquor during tho currency of a prohibition order. The Magistrate- inmosod a fine of £o nncl costs,, in default two tLonths , imprisonment, A charge of painting advertisements on the rocks.at Sumnor was preferred W. C. Colliiia hy tin- J?imim>r borough Council (Mr Wright). The Magistrito .adjourned tho cose in order to allow defendant to remove the advertisements. Ellen McDougall applied for a summary separation order against her husband, Wallace John McD'oiigall, on the ground of cruelty. The 'application .was granted and tho defendant orderoJ to pay '2Q& a week towards hi* wife's •upport.-' Henry Fox Chnffey (Mr Hunter) -was ordered to contribute 15s h week toYards hia wifo'tt support.
