THE CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING.
(PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) NAPIER, September 10. The Now Zealand Golf Clubs' Championship Meeting wee commenced on the Napier Golf Club/c links to-day. Tho oompetitore included all the best players in the colony, the number of competitors being the largest that has ever taken part in a golf meeting in the colony. The woather wa* beautifully fine, and there was a very largo attendance, the various games being watched with keen interest. The Teams' Match for the Williams Cup, for teams of four, to be nominated before the commencement of the match, the aggregate groee score of each team in the first round of the Hawke's Bay Amateur Championship deciding tho event, was won by the Napier Club, who thus retain the cup, having won it last year.
